HOW TO MAKE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS

10 Engraving the Legends on the PCB

The final step in the process is to engrave the letters on the top surface.  Seemingly easy, but there are a few tricks you need to know to get good alignment between the first side and the top side.

This is the tenth video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.

09 Adding protection with Tinning and painting the top for the letter engraving

While optional, these steps make for a MUCH better PCB.  Tinning is performed to tin the copper to prevent it from corroding and to also aid in the soldering process.  Paint is applied to the top surface so that the legend (letter) engraving stands out and is readable.  Plenty of tips are offered to make this a reliable process.

This is the ninth video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.

08 Performing the Isolation Milling on the bottom copper side

It is time to start the 'making' process, we will be performing the first operation of the process. Provided is a walk though of all the steps to setup and run this operation. The exacts steps may be different depending on what machine you have.

This is the eighth video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.

07 A look at the Cutting Tools used for Isolation Milling and drilling

It is time to start the 'making' process, we will be performing the first operation of the process. Provided is a walk though of all the steps to setup and run this operation. The exacts steps may be different depending on what machine you have.

This is the seventh video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.

06 The BEST work holding for Isolation Milling of Printed Circuit Boards PCBs

Having secure and accurate work holding is critical in all machining operations and isolation milling is no exception.  Failure to follow good practices will ultimately lead to failure in your efforts to make PCBs at home.  This video demonstrates a proven and reliable method that has worked for years!

This is the sixth video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.

05 What features a CNC machine should have for successful Isolation Milling

Isolation milling requires a CNC machine and there are many to chose from.  In this video I share information about my CNC machine, what I think is important, and why it is important.  We will also take a look at a couple of low-priced machines on Amazon and what to watch for with them.

This is the fifth video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.

04 Generating the CNC program for your machine, CAM software or Custom software

Once you have a design, you need to covert that information into a CNC program for your machine.  This video explains that process.

This is the fourth video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.

03 What I use to design PCBs, easy and simple

Designing PCBs does not have to be complicated!  In this video I show you the software and method I use and it is very easy and simple.  While not free, it is affordable and is mature software.

This is the third video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.

02 What is needed for making PCBs at home

Learn what you need for making PCBs at home.  From design, to tools, to machinery, it is all explained.

This is the second video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.
